Strings and winds

I gotta admit that I'm not a very good player but playing guitar or bass guitar makes me happy. I've shot some pictures of my instruments. I've bought them through the years and all of them are second hand. There is a very important second hand musical instruments market where I live. 'Till the last cent I've spent on them has been worth. Life is too short to play with crappy instruments. It does not matter how good you are. What it matters is that if you drive a Ferrari Testarrosa, you won't drive it as if you were Fernando Alonso, but for sure, you'll notice and you'll enjoy the superb quality of the car.

This is my Gibson Les Paul SG Custom. I'll never sell it. She has given me tons of happiness, asking me nothing in exchange. This is by far, the best purchase I've ever made. I remember I sold almost every single piece of gear I had to go for this beauty

This is my Framus Tennessee. I bought it from a german retired man that used to spend several months a year in Gran Canaria, to scape from the cold german winter. When I caught it in my hands, I found that it's still had the ticket of the german store where he had bought it. It's got a very sweet tone

This is my Status Energy, a British made active five string bass guitar. I bought it from a guy in his twenties that, while we were walking toward his house, told me "I'm fed up of it, I want a Telecaster instead".

And finally, I guess this is my worst purchase but at the same time, the cheapest. It was in mint condition but playing trumpet is much more difficult than what I ever thought, so it remains lying in it's case.

Calima

Hoy subí con la moto a Valsequillo, así que sobre las ocho menos cuarto ya estaba por allí.

Cuando entré en la casa ví que todo estaba seco. Los parterres, los árboles, las verduras, las macetas....todo. La calima que venimos sufriendo desde el Jueves ha sido la culpable. Además, por lo visto ha soplado el viento con bastante intensidad a lo largo de la semana.

Los cáctus, pitas y tuneras

Una de las tuneras, víctima, como otros árboles y arbustos de la zona, de la indeseable hiedra, que ya la sobrepasa por encima. Hoy he tenido que meter tijera para limpiar los troncos de dos higueras, porque ya estaba subiendo por ellos.

Juan Sebastián de Elcano

Estas son fotos que tiré en una visita que el buque escuela de la Armada Española, el Juan Sebastián de Elcano, hizo a mi ciudad a principios de 2008.

Nunca había entrado antes en este barco y tengo que reconocer que todo estaba reluciente y en perfecto estado de revista, nunca mejor empleada la expresión. El buque está navegando desde que en marzo de 1927 fue botado en Cádiz.

Todo el personal a bordo fue muy amable y atento con nosotros.
